MELLISA'S STORY
ARNOLD'S STORY
In November 2023, I had the opportunity to travel to Nigeria for the International Pastors and Partners Conference. While working at the Loveworld Networks exhibition stand, one particular station displaying souvenirs caught my attention. I walked over to ask for one and that’s when I met Arnold. He was easy on the eye, warm, welcoming and incredibly polite, considering the day l had. What started as a simple request quickly turned into an effortless conversation. Before I knew it, we had exchanged contact details. It was only later that I realised I never even got the souvenir I had gone there for but I had gained something far more valuable.

That was the last time we spoke in person for a while. A few days later, after we had both returned to our respective countries, we reconnected. Our first call was a video call that lasted over 30 minutes, closer to an hour and in that moment, I knew I truly enjoyed speaking to him. From then on, we spoke every single day. We shared conversations, prayers, laughter, faith and dreams. After a while, he expressed his desire for us to be together, and our bond continued to grow, anchored in God. That’s when I realized how easy it is to be loved, cared for, valued and respected.

Fast forward to June 2025, he travelled to South Africa to see me and formally asked my parents for my hand in marriage. From that moment on, everything else has unfolded by God’s grace.
And now we are here!
​I travelled to Nigeria in November 2023 for IPPC. My sole mission was to represent our Canadian TV station at theLoveworld Networks Exhibition. Little did I know that God had ordained for me meet the love of my life. Being at an exhibition stand, I met many people from different countries and backgrounds. I had literally hundreds of interactions everyday.
However, when I spoke to Mellisa, there was just a spark about her. She had a radiant smile and she was so full of life. I knew right away that I wanted to talk to her again. Before we parted, I made sure I got her number and that same day, I texted her. Texts turned into Video Calls. Video calls culminated to me traveling to South Africa to see her in person.
And by God's grace, soon getting married! From meeting her till date, she's the most beautiful and radiant person I know. Mellisa, eternity seems like a short time to spend with you!
